We focus on martial arts, qigong, sitting meditation and Buddhist temple forms as a complete, complementary, and grounded method of practicing Buddhist principles in our modern world. Our academy is informed by the practices of the Shaolin Chan and Soto Zen Buddhist lineages. We study, teach, and explore how to apply this philosophy to our everyday lives.
While we offer Buddhist services and believe that Chinese martial arts are connected to our spirituality, people of all faiths are avidly welcomed. We currently instruct individuals with very diverse backgrounds. We do not try to persuade students to change their belief systems, but merely make available our teachings to those seeking them. Part of our mission is to encourage conversation about the relevancy of these practices to all belief systems and ways of life.
We are creating a mindful society grounded in Shaolin Chan and Soto Zen Buddhist philosophies and martial arts, so each of us may experience the tranquility and mindfulness of the Shaolin monks in our modern, busy lives.
We use this combination of modalities as a method for people of all ages, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds to reach their full human potential.
With this heightened perception, we study how to reconcile the realities of the human condition with the enlightenment of spiritual development.
We bring a finely-tuned sensitivity into the world, using wisdom to understand how each of us can best support and contribute to their family, community, and nation.
Our programs, classes and workshops are paid for by private and public donations and monthly supporters. Please help us bring these essential practices to an ever-widening population. We are committed to inclusivity and diversity in regards to ethnicity, sexual identity and economics. Your financial support is deeply appreciated. Please make a donation today.
